The Health Camp took place on Baishakh 9, 2080 (April 22, 2023), with the main objective of providing general healthcare services to the residents of Madi Rural Municipality-12 and neighboring wards without any cost. Qualified healthcare professionals led the camp, focusing on the theme of “Identification, prevention, and treatment of chronic diseases”. This initiative not only provided medical treatment and medications but also facilitated the identification of prevalent health issues within the local population.

The event wasn’t limited to curative measures; it also placed a significant emphasis on preventive healthcare through informative sessions. By utilizing multimedia tools, a wide array of health-related topics were covered during the camp’s awareness program. The overarching goal was to enhance community health by addressing both curative and preventive aspects effectively.

In addition to the routine check-ups, the health camp attended to a few urgent cases, primarily involving injuries. Notably, there was a critical incident linked to heart disease. The patient’s condition was diligently monitored using a bedside monitor, intravenous fluids, and medications. Eventually, this individual was directed to an advanced medical facility in Pokhara for more comprehensive care.

The camp ended on Baisakh 10, 2080 (Apr. 23, 2023) with a total registration of 423 among which 43% were male whereas 57% were female. A total of 1479 different services were provided throughout the camp. Doctors had referred 11 cases that needed further treatment to different hospitals in Pokhara and Chitwan. Those cases are mostly related to ENT and skin; there are also some cases relating to the eye, ortho, and gynae. Also, cases of malnutrition among children were found and they were referred to the Nutrition Rehabilitation Center at Western Regional Hospital in Pokhara. Individuals unable to afford further medical attention due to their financial and social circumstances will receive assistance through the organization’s Medical Charity Fund. This aid will be provided subsequent to a thorough socio-economic evaluation.
