The community health unit is a basic health care service providing center at the grassroots level ensuring access to quality primary health care services for the people of the community. Such units are run to improve hygiene and sanitation of the community people and health behaviors of the community people for prevention of disease and promotion of health.

Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality-07, Dhampus covers a diverse geographical area ranging from 1031 meters to 7555 meters. This diversification has constrained accessibility of the basic health care facilities among the community people. Acknowledging such problems and to provide quality and effective health care facilities to the community people living in the upper part of Dhampus, various hospital-related and medical equipment were provided at the Dhampus Community Health Unit.
