Drawing Competition & Dustbin Distribution Program on World Environment Day 2026
On the occasion of the 54th World Environment Day, NELUMBO, NEPAL, celebrated it by distributing dustbins along with dustbin stand and organizing a drawing competition for students at Shree Paundhur Basic School, which is located at Annapurna Rural Municipality-03. World Environment Day, celebrated annually on June 5 since 1972, aims to spotlight pressing environmental issues such as air and plastic pollution, illegal wildlife trade, sustainable consumption, sea-level rise, and food security. It fosters awareness and drives changes in consumption patterns and environmental policies globally. The theme for World Environment Day 2026 was “Inspired by Nature, For Climate, For Our Future,” which was driven by the campaign slogan #NowForClimate. It focuses on the urgent need to tackle climate change. It highlights the clear warning signs the Earth is sending such as rising temperatures, extreme weather events, melting glaciers, and biodiversity loss and encourages governments, businesses, communities and individuals to take immediate climate action. It emphasizes reducing greenhouse gas emissions, protecting ecosystems, expanding renewable energy, and building a more sustainable future for everyone.
Incorporating the World Environment Day 2026’s theme into the titles drawing competition was organized as a way of raising awareness among the students about recent environmental concerns. The title for drawing competition was “मेरो हरियो पृथ्वी“.
