Essay and Drawing Competition & Dustbin Distribution Program on World Environment Day 2025
On the occasion of the 53rd World Environment Day, NELUMBO, NEPAL, celebrated it by distributing dustbins and organizing an essay and drawing competition for students at Shree Prithivi Narayan Secondary School, which is located in the upper belt of Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality-07, Dhampus. World Environment Day, celebrated annually on June 5 since 1972, aims to spotlight pressing environmental issues such as air and plastic pollution, illegal wildlife trade, sustainable consumption, sea-level rise, and food security. It fosters awareness and drives changes in consumption patterns and environmental policies globally. The theme for World Environment Day 2025 was “Beat Plastic Pollution,” which focuses on putting an end to plastic pollution. For decades, plastic pollution has seeped into every corner of the world, leeching into the water we drink, into the food we eat, and into our bodies. While plastic pollution is a major concern, it is also one of the fixable environmental challenges, with some obvious solutions at hand. Plastic pollution is a growing global concern with severe environmental and health consequences. It disrupts ecosystems, harms wildlife, contaminates food chains, and contributes to climate change.
Incorporating the World Environment Day 2025’s theme into the titles, essay and drawing competitions were organized as a way of raising awareness among the students about recent environmental concerns. The title for drawing competition was “मेरो सफा विद्यालय“ and the title for the essay competition was “जलवायु परिवर्तनमा प्लास्तिक प्रयोगको प्रभाव र समाधान“.
